Dear Pete
Have just caught up with the infinitely sad news of Nikki’s death. We are somewhat out of the loop in retirement and noticed the news on the church bulletin. We send our deepest condolences and fond love to you and all the family. Obviously, I have accessed the blog and know of the Funeral arrangements and have read Nikki’s own comments on her blog. She was so positive and sparky in facing this terrible thing and so many people must have loved and admired her. Please be assured of our loving prayers.

It was lovely yesterday. Nikki would have absolutely loved it. She would have been immensely proud of her family – the dignity they showed in their sadness, their generosity and their hospitality in sharing this precious moment with Nikki’s vast number of friends. The service was beautiful. the afternoon was fabulous – Nikki would have absolutely loved the cupcakes- gorgeously yum!
God Bless you all and keep you safe,
Sarah & Chris

There arent enough words to describe the events of yesterday and although it was probably one
of the saddest days I ever known it was also one of the best. A beautiful service with emotive
tributes to the one of the kindest human beings i have ever known. A dignified and fitting send
off for Nikki. Im definately going to try and make the marzipan cake and Ive got my sunflower seeds
in a safe place for next year. Thankyou to Pete and Nikkis wonderful family for yesterday. Sending
you my kindest regards. Love to you all..xx
Maxine.

Just wanted to say how lovely the service was yesterday. Not having known Nikki for very long before she became ill it was such a delight to learn new things about her and share the joy of her life with all who loved her dearly. Although Nikki’s life was short it could be described as full and energetic. Loved the afternoon tea, would have liked to eaten more cake, but had to leave early. So to make up for it will make her special cake and be greedy!!!
Love to you all

I would also like to add that it was a fantastic tribute, we cried, we laughed, we cried some more, we remembered, we chatted and laughed even more and then we all ate fat cake.
I’m sure the lady approved.
One line from the service sums it up for me and that is : “She was needed somewhere else”

I dont know any of you but by chance I came across the notice in the Hull daily Mail…and the wording was different including the web address…which lead me to look further…
It is clear from the moving and touching accounts that Nikki was a funny, dynamic, vibrant and special girl, with so much to live for. The family also are so special and loving and supportive…what a terrible tragedy for you all.
So from a total stranger, you have my utmost admiration and sympathies. Sally

I don’t normally do this but i felt compelled to send you a comment. My husband and I are great fans of Grand Designs, Restoration Man.
I am sure there will not be many dry eyes after an incredible programme tonight. Not only was the project totally inspiring and your property is incredible but I am so amazed at the bravery Nicky showed. She was amazing and I am sure you and all of her family are incredibly proud to watch that back. I hope you enjoy your home and to know that Nicky is part of it all can give you some console.
No dry eyes in our house either last night. Very Inspiring and a tribute to Nikki and to Pete and their family and friends. Thank you for sharing with us at home your story.
To Pete & Family,
Right at the start of last nights programme I reconised Nikki from my years at Farnborough College of Technology and had good memories of talking to her in the breaks between lectures there with her friend Rachel.
I just wanted to say the programme was very moving and also inspirational for how to deal with loss and also creating something jointly that reflects two peoples love and devotion to each other. Congratulations with the end result of the build it looks fantastic and is a tribute to the integrity you both showed throughout a very difficult time.
Thoughts are with you
Regards,
Martin
I have just watched the re run on channel 4. My husband has terminal brain cancer and I know whats coming. As I watched the programme with my baby son asleep in my arms I know that I will survive too. Thank you. And best wishes. Anna x
