Restoration Man back on your screens, 1st May… Spread the Word!!

We were so pleased with how George and the Tiger Aspect crew put together the program that followed our build; Nikki got to see a preview less than a week before she died.  The repeat is airing on More4, Tuesday the 1st May at 9pm.

!!!Update June 11th – The program is now available to view online click here to go to the Channel 4 website!!!

Lives can be saved with the HPV vaccine; please spread the word to everyone, teenagers, their parents, even school nurses who can use the program to reinforce the vaccination message.

Take care

Just watched Restoration Man and although I am not sure if cervical cancer was mentioned I just knew looking at Niki (I am around the same age) that it was. I was diagnosed March 2009 and although clear for now I understand some not all of your story. I want to thank you for sharing such a journey which can only help improve awareness. Pete my husband cried tonight like I have never seen him cry and that was when he watched your so obvious pain I think it brought him back to a time when he couldn’t show weakness so he buried those tears so from him thank you. I hope those sails are turning and Niki’s spirit is with you Pete

A 45 year old man and I was moved to tears more than once whist watching this programme. If Nikki and Pete’s courage in sharing their story can save one life then it will have been worth it. Hopefully it will save many more. I truly hope you find peace and happiness in your new home Pete. I’m sure Nikki’s courage and inspriation will live on in you. Good luck.

    Pete

My husband and I were both very moved by your story. I was diagnosed with breasts cancer several years ago so we can understand some of the journey you have been on. Raising awareness is so important and the work you are doing will help save lives. We know the devistation cancer can cause and my daughter will definitely have the HPV injection next year but I know many parents who are choosing not to do this because they do not understand the benefits or the potential consequences of not having the injection. More education is needed.

You have a truly beautiful house and I am sure Niikk’s inspirational spirit lives on within it and I hope that it gives you some comfort at this difficult time.

Take good care and best luck for the future.

I love watching the Restoration Man programme and am always amazed at the visions of those participating in the programme. I shared tears of sadness and joy… sadness with the loss of Nikki and joy with your vision of the mill which is a work of art and I think the best of the series. Thank you for sharing your vision and good luck for the future.

I just watched Restoration Man. Like many who’ve already posted comments, I had tears rolling down my cheeks on several different occasions throughout the programme. I’m not a cancer suffer but If i was ever unfortunate enough to be diagnosed I hope that i could show just a tiny bit of Nikki’s bravery, composure and determination. My thoughts also go out to her family and brave Pete. You were her very obvious support mechanism and motivation. Thank you too for sharing your story. The very best to you all for the future.

I’ve just watched Restoration Man & felt I must comment on how moving & inspirational it was.
Nikki was so brave & you must feel so proud of her especially as your emotions were being televised for many to see. I felt your journey was so well handled by the crew too.
I wish you peace, health & happiness in your beautiful new home.
Thank you for sharing your story, I hope it helps many more people.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading Nikkis blog, although moved, she fought this illness and never let it take away her affection, love and dedication to her family and the world around her. I am writing this message in tears, as I myself am a mother of three beautiful children, at times I forget and let life slip by, without taking a moment to be thankful for the precious people we have in our lives. Nikki left a fantastic legacy and with this blog and awareness will give hope to other women and families out there..it may even help prevent another sad loss of life. I wish you and your family all the best for the future and to let you know that Nikki will never be forgotten xxxx
